My heater doesn't work on the 1 or 2 setting but it does on the others. Does anyone know why it does this and how to fix it. It also only blows lukewarm air

in terms of the 1 and 2 settings on the fan, here goes:

* Lift Bonnet

* remove windscreen wipers. and pastic nut beneath them.

* Remove rubber weather strip in front of the windscreen

* Take off small clips than hold the front of the plastic moulded thing at the base of the windscreen (about 5 i think), I used a small allen key to slide under the tab, then lift up.

* CAREFULLY remove the black plastic moulded thing - it will be brittle as. You can get away with removing it from the passengers side and pulling it forwards a bit and leaving the drivers side pretty much instact.

* Under where the black plastic thing was, on the passanger side, you will see a dome-shaped object screwed in either side - unscrew the two screws and remove

* Under this there will be a wiring loom going into a orange (i think) fuse, unplug it and also remove the screws holding it in place. now that its unplugged and unscrewed you can remove it. The fuse has three spring shaped elements, you will find that one of these is broken. THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO REPLACE. You can buy (coughpocketcough) them from wreckers, or new from holden. But holden give you an updated VS+ model one which is about 50 bucks i think.

* assembly is the reverse of disassembly :)

In terms of only luke warm air, what temperature does your car sit at when driving? If it is flat cold, you need a new thermostat and this should fix it. The other possibility is the 3-way heater tap, located on the drivers side of the engine, sorta attached to the wheel arch. These are about 30 bucks I think, I got my mechanic to replace it.
