G'day. Anyone know how to replace the crank angle sensor (CAS) on a VN Series 1?

Cheers,

Hey mate havnt cum axs u in the other posts so welcome 2 the club if u havnt already!Ok I'll give u a general run down on how 2 remove and replace the cas!!
REMOVE
1.remove the drive belt by lifting the tension arm with a ring spanner.
2.undo the cas (crank shaft sensor) balancer bolt and washer (if u need use a pulley remover) 2 get 2 the cas!
3.remove the wiring connection from the cas then the crank sensor bolts and sensor (sorry got no pics as I'v got no cam)!!(inspect cas 2 c if any damage and also chek the rings on the crank shaft balancer 4 damage!
INSTALL
1.replace the cas and tighten bolts (torque bolts to 20-40Nm
2.loosen sensor adjusting bolt and replace the crank shaft balancer bolt.(torque bolts to 270-325Nm
3.place a spec feeler gauge between the outer crankshaft bal ring and the cas!(the gap between the cbr and the cas should b 0.50mm)then tighten sensor adjusting bolts(torque bolts to 4-5Nm)
6.plug in the loom and put the drive belt on and hey presto that should do it !!
And as said in previous posts I take no responsability 4 damage caused while these repairs are being made good luk with it and let us know how it works out!!!che trizo;P
