i am thinking about getting a sunroof in my car. just wondering if anyone could tell me if they have got it done and how much should i expect to get it fitted (going to get a second hand one of e-bay)thx
mate unless ur goin 2 cut and shut the roof b prepared 2 pay a small fortune!!I know sum vn calais came out with these I haf know idea about price xcept that it wont b cheap!!!!!!
I don't have one myself, but I know someone who used to fit them as aftermarket accessories and when I was considering doing it I was told in no uncertain terms it's a mistake because: a) they almost all leak to a certain degree when they are fitted aftermarket like that, b) insurance companies HATE them and your premiums will go up c) it makes the car heavier and it's really high up so both performance and handling take a bit of a hit, and finally d) because you're chopping a large chunk of metal out of the roof, it becomes a lot more flexible, and he's seen a few cars with aftermarket suspensions (stiffer than factory) actually crack their windscreens if they corner too hard because of the increased flex.
That said...if you get it done, post up pics would be nice to hear a good story about a sun roof in a VN ;)
