Hey, I'm about to buy a central locking kit off eBay for my 89 Berlina. I can get 1 with 2 remotes for $55ish. It makes the indicators flash when locking/unlocking car and I am stopping myself from buying it until I get advice on it. Is the price I'm looking at good? Also can ne1 help me in installing it? Me and my dad instal everything in my car and DIY is the only option in our case! Cheers alot!

| mate, I personally dont buy electronics off ebay since they are usually nasty cheap things from hong kong or cheap nasty things from hong kong bought by someone in oz and resold.... my idea of getting a central locking kit (and i'm going to do it) is going to a serious automotive electric store and getting them to install the whole lot.... keyless entry, remote start, alarm, power windows.... everything at once...professionally... my advice is to wait a while, save a bit and get it done properly.... were talking about the security of you car here |

Hell...you can pick up brand new ones (that you know will work) from JB-HiFi for less than $100 normally.
They take NOTHING to fit, a mate and I fitted his in his driveway in less than 2 hours. And that includes a beer or two along the way.
@lolo: unless you have a VERY specific reason for going for a remote start setup, don't do it, they tend to cause all sorts of grief with cars. |

| Uh...the wiring is all part of fitting it. ;) So long as you're not colour blind it's not too hard. Either that, or if it's a really good one, all the wiring is black, and the connectors can only go in one way, so it's not too hard to do it. |
