Hi guys and girls, just payed for a Mace Engineering pod filter cold air enclosure, and hopefully I will get it by the end of the week. Had been looking at it for a while. I ordered it with a perspex lid, so it should look pretty neat. Anyway, I will give you all the heads up on when I get it, and how it goes with installation and the like.

thats really cool man thats also on my to do list. especially with the perspex lid so you can see the pod filter inside. You could even put a neon in that box.
post some pics if you can be bothered once you have it installed. |
I'll show you the Rick James cell. It's superfreaky!. |

yeah it annoys me when i see people getting around with a pod with no enclosure just for looks and it's sucking in the hot air decreasing engine life and performance what's the point.
seeing that on cars just makes my think you don't car about your car, good to see you do tell us if it's noticeable in driving too.
cheers |

yeah that's up to him though.
if i were ever looking around car sales or something for a car i would steer clear of the ones with mods like that or lowered i'd try pick out a grannies car.
like for instance my dad's mates mother of 78years age get's around in a 1988 VLturbo 17,000kms bought new never been touched or driven over the speed limit. Gets notes of people wanting to pay anything she wants for it but id not interested in selling. lol |

Got the enclosure in the mail yesterday. Installed it today. This is what it looks like. The link is to photo bucket where I have placed two photos. Check out the full sized versions of the two photos. Enjoy! http://photobucket.com/VN91SX |

that's look so good mate you must be very proud of it. that clear perspex lid is worth the extra $40 to show it off.
you have the cleanest engine bay i have ever seen i can't wait to get mine now.
can you notice any extra throttle response? |

Thanks leebo. I have put alot of time into detailing the engine bay, and I am very proud of it. The extra throttle response is negligable, but it is there, especially at quicker cruising speeds e.g. 60-80km/h when there is good airflow. I noticed an improvement in throttle response instantly when I originally got the pod, but I feel alot more secure and happy now that it is enclosed and not breathing in the hot air under the hood. I added the polished air flow pipe on when I installed the pod enclosure, it sounds pretty cool and looks good lol! The polished pipe has a sound to it that the factory plastic one doesn't. I am glad you liked it and I appreciate your nice words and I can tell that you certainly have a big passion for VN's |

| Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the finished product after I installed it. Each piece has been fabricated and finished perfectly. |

| This is a strong and sturdy box nodg. Like yourself nodg, I was thinking about going back to the standard panel filter and cai, but a thread you wrote a while ago about the cai being a pain to make it fit changed my mind. Oh and I also forgot, the sound of a the pod, these two things made up my mind. |

| I'm sure nodg if you can't be bothered making up a new one you could get a KnN filter but I'm sure the Mace engineering is much better. |
