Is it possible to modify the v6 engine on the VN to Overhead Cams from rockers and push rods, as I prefer instant response from my V6 compared to a slight delay from when i put the foot down for power

nothings impossible but theres no point there would be thousands of $$$$$ worth of modifying.....

The v6's do have instant throttle response the delay your talking about would be your transmition and a shift kit would fix that.. otherwise go manual like me

if you pull a motor apart and see how it works youll realise that having an ohc wouldnt do anything for the v6 anyway as everything moves in sync and theres no lagg whatso ever to take up... and to have ohc's you would need two massive chains wich would more than likley take away from response and be unreliable.

Really have a think about it if it was a worth while project then holden would have made the newer engines dohc but not even the alloytech is...

The VN V6 motor will get up and boogie alright. If it's lagging a bit, check your throttle body (clean it), check the cables going to it, spark plugs, leads, coil packs.

If you're still not happy with the performance, it would probably be a cheaper option to put in a CAI, Stage 2 Cam, roller rockers, custom memcal, extractors, 2.5" exhaust, dyno tune, and maybe just maybe look at a supercharger.

In terms of bang per buck, I'd go with these engine mods any day. There's way more power to be had following this route than blowing thousands upon thousands of dollars on an OHC conversion. If you want OHC get a rice burner. If you want pure unadulterated power/torque, go for these mods instead. Or get a V8 then do these mods.
