hi guys this may sound like a stupid question but im stuck
when it comes to wiring i am prity good and know prity much what every wire in my car does but this has me stuffed does anyone know were the green signal wire ataches to in a vn i have tryed the brown wires that feed the factory tacho but it just wont work any help would be good
thanks trizo but no it didnt help i have a feeling that the signal wire in the vn may not have a high enough voltage to run some tachos, can anyone confirm this?
ok tryed every wire on the coil and still no good tested the tacho on my brothers racer and works fine dont really know what the go is i dont even want it for the tacho i could just use the indash one but i wanted the shift light
You can actually get just a shift light from autometer. It uses chips to determine what RPM to come on. You can actually get a little pencil light if you want to hide it a little. Now i know this is a silly question but do you have the selector on the back switched to 6 cylinder??
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
to tell you the truth ive never installed a monster tscho on a vn, and was thinking where it would hook up to.. what i do know is tachos run off the negative pulse of the coil which is accessible through the brown wire in the loom on the passenger guard, it would have to hook up somewhere to the coil, just never found out where.
yes it is selected for a 6 cyl as for were to conect it to i have installed a fue of these for mates and have put a autometer one in a vn b4 and it worked fine im back to the signal not having enough voltage to register on the Type R tacho think i may have to change brands becouse my boost gage that i installed yesterday is readding vacume when the car is siiting on 1500 now this might be right but my thoughts were with the s/c it would be on boost all the time lol time to go back to just driving blind i think or spending propper $$$ on gauges
