its a direct swap over, only a couple of bolts and a plug (which is bolted on as well) think its 7mm by memory... series 2 coilpacks are alot better than the series 1, definitely go ahead wih it

Cheers,
Nodg.

the only thing with swaping them is that the lead setup is different on the s2 to the s1 coil lead set up

just to inform you guys, there is no real benifit from changing to series 2 coilpacks, other than they are 3 seperate units, compared to the 1 block unit of the S1, people usually notice a differance in power coz there original S1 coil packs were shagged in the beginning.

just to inform you dano84, there is a reason y you should change the coil pack to a s2, reason being is on the s1 coil packs if it packs up its done and ya car is no more! the s2 coil packs being 3 units like you said will compensate for the other if 1 side of the unit sh1ts it self, hence its more of a reliability feature! no power would ever be gained from changing your coilpack !

sorry trizo, i came across wrong. you are dead right, im just sick of people saying they get a bigger power gain with a S2 coil pack. so for reliability reasons the S2 is better, that is all

Trizo, you said about the lead set up? I'd like to know. I thought I would need the S2 module underneath? Just wondering as I have 6 coils from VS's and presumed I couldn't use them on the S1 module? Would be excellent as I reckon my coils are slowly dying.

I'm not sure how you would go with the vs coils as far as I know there not interchangable, but if ya get it to work I,d more than interested to find out how!

Dunno, I thought the S2-VS were the same type of coil? Anyone got any more info on this? I'm keen now to have a look at the S1 base and perhaps try the VS coils anyway. It might work, I'm thinking maybe using an acrylic/alloy block as a spacer to give room for the primary tags under the coils. Need to have a look at how the old coil block is wired. Got a day off this week, I'll have a look at it then and see what the deal is and let you's know.

TeeHee... Even if the engine burst into flames and the fuel tank blew the back end off the car it would only be 1% of what the car has been through over the years, HA HA! MANY long stories, had to be there...
Seriously -if I don't think it'll work 100% I won't proceed past looking at it. I don't have the time or cash to replace a wiring harness etc. thats why I'd use the bits I've already got.

I dont like being taken for a tool. Like I said hit it then and you get back to me if I wrong I'll eat a $100 note and post it on utube! and that was the vs coils onto a vn s1 module was that right? lmfao!

WTF? No offence meant or assumptions about your knowledge made here! I know the VS coils will not be interchangeable with the S1 base. Never suggested they would be. I only presumed the S2&VS coils could be interchangeable as I have no actual facts to base that on. My VN cost me $800 -NO cash will be spent on seeing if I can get it to work. Just some time. Any effort I spend doing anything on my car I see as learning. Haven't lifted the bonnet yet, and if it doesn't look like it will work, I won't try for fear of buggering something. Laugh your a$$ off all you like, broad shoulders on me. I wasn't laughing at you at all, only me and the s#!t my car has been through with the last owner and while I've had it. So very sorry if I have caused any offence.

And dude I didnt take offence , I have a harsh way of explaining things ... you will get used to me
