Hey guys,

ive got a SV VN LE V8 wagon, and just did a service to the old gal last weekend, everything went fine till it came to the brakes,

Last time the brakes were done i had a mate help me change the pads we put in Bendix ultimants no problems or trouble everything went fine,

This time went i pulled out the old pads they havn't been wearing down evenly at the top of the pad there was still 1mm left and at the bottom there was 0.2mm left. this was the case on all 4 pads,

The front disk are less then 2 years old, not sure abou the rear,

what would cause this? can i fix it? or iam i better to take it somewere?

Well... the thing is they dont always wear evenly... even if there is nothing wrong with the discs, pads wont always wear easily... it is worth checkin the bushes... however... do you have any vibration when your braking? When you spin the wheels by hand do they make a scraping noise? You may have some warped discs.

well heres the thing... you would think for obvious saftey reasons that they should wear evenly.. it would save a sh1t load on getting the discs skimmed every few months lol.. what people have to remember is that we are driving 20yr old cars , hence y I say the bushes on the calipers, I'd still recommend pulling them of and having a thourough check over them!
