hey guys. my 90 VN doesnt have a tachometer so i was wondering if i bought a new dash... thing... i forget what theyre called, lol, the thing with the gauges in it! if i bought a new one with a tachometer in it would i be able to install it easily enough with everything working?

yes as trizo said however make sure you dont get one from a vr/vs otherwise you will burnout the back wiring and nothing will work .

awesome, cheers guys, also, does it need any kinda calibration? or does the chip handle everything to do with that kinda stuff..

No calibration necessary. What chip would you be refering to??
 

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

Chip should not have any effect on the instrument cluster. Just remove old cluster and put the new one in and off you go.

you can pick one up from pick a part for about $50. i got mine there took if 5 mins to put in and it only has 160kms

ok guys can anyone tell me how to tell if its a v8 cluster not v6? and is there some type of switch on teh back for v8/v6 fuel guage??? seriously i have read that there is supposed to be a switch......only cause i have one in the shed and its a series on cluster and has the taco....but i dont know what its off as in v8 or v6.....

from what I know the v8 cluster has a flick switch .. but that may not be the case with all of them , but if you put a v8 cluster into your v6 you will have to configure the fuel via the cluster!

odo not working is a common fault tho, pretty easy to fix

I have a spare level 1 cluster that I'll guarantee the odo will work and guages won't stick for 3 months :)

Although I'm thinking about doing some serious mods to it, as I'm attemping on the one in my car right now, before I sell it

I 'v got a couple of clusters that work and dont stick aswell, but then again there a dime a dozen
