i got a '2.5inch' sports exhaust for my v8 last week, it isnt particulary louder than it was and performance/economy wasnt affected in any way so i got a bit sus..... anyway i just measured it and the diameter is a tad over 5 cm's (less than 2.25). would you be going back to complain and get another 2.5 inch fitted? i was talking to someone that recons this particular place has recently changed exhaust brand, so sports exhausts are cheaper, my query is- was this a simple mistake or would this be there 'run of the mill' exhaust system that they put on any old v6 or v8??? because to me, they have these 'sports exhaust' systems already bent up with muffler attached to go straight onto a commodore whether its v6 or v8, just to keep cost down....
any thoughts?

| Im a firm believer u get what u paid for which works both ways. If you got told a 2.5" exhuast was to be fitted then thats what should be on your car. I would go back and query it personally. Even if it was a cheap one you would expect it to be at least the right size... |

take it back m8 you didnt get what you paid for , if the guys wants to get cocky I'd remind him that there are ways of giving his shotty buissiness a bad name  but thats just me!! |

| dunno about over there mate, but here we have consumer laws. if you were being sold a 2.5 system and ended up with a 2 and a quarter that is surely against the law. you wouldnt go to the shop and ask for 2 1/4 inch exhaust would you? thats bugger all bigger than standard. i know enough undesirables that i would take a carload to just stand around the car while you are talking to him ;) |
