a presure flush through a heater hose with the motor running is the best bet unless you want to strip down the motor. it could have a collapsed core in the radiator so go get that checked out

Cheers,
Nodg.

The whole coolant system is connected and the best way to flush the system completely is to undo a heater hose which is located under the master cylinder, disconnect a hose, quick a garden hose im one end and blast all the crap out with the motor running so the thermostat opens

Cheers,
Nodg.

Pretty sure they have a roller cam and roller lifters in there aswell... definately worth getting a hold of if you can!

I think its easy to see how YNV_M3 could have seen that as a little rude, but I can also see how it could have been misinterpreted aswell- for instance, just been a good nature ribbing.

Lets not clog the thread up with crap lads- getting into a bit of a slinging match won't solve anything.

If you did take it to the mechanics the first thing they check for is leaks and pressurise the system which is usually free, when they presurise the system they will see exactly where the leak is, if there is one for course. And Mild im not sure but i know for a fact the vn-vs v8's are pretty much identical so i figured they wouldnt of changed much for the vt. might go get some vt heads and get a few thou shaved off them for my rebuild!

Cheers,
Nodg.

VN to VS was identical but I'm almost certain that the VT 5litre had a roller cam / lifters to give it a boost of power to help carry that big heavy body. I'll research it and see what I can find...

im not a mechanic or nothing but one thing comes to mind. you only have had these problems since replacing the coolant, so im thinking the motor might've been too hot when you put the cold coolant in there and cracked something?
im sure nodg and some of the other guys could agree or disagree.
Just a thought.
