Welcome to the forum mate. Right now code 23 is the manifold air temp sensor. So it sounds to me as though you have changed the wrong sensor. The one you wanted to hook the gauge up to is the coolant temp sensor which I am not sure where it is on the series 1 but on the series 2 it is at the front of the inlet manifold just behind the alternator. You will need to connect the new gauge wiring and the original wiring to the sensors. This will ensure correct operation of all systems. I am not 100% but i believe that the original oil pressure sensor is just a switch so I am not sure how a pressure sensor will effect the system.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

Can't help with the temp guage, but when we installed the oil pressure guage we swapped out the connector and installed a t piece so that we could keep the existing, in dash warning light as well as have the guage giving a reading.

And love the sig VNSVLE!
