i am puting a new automatic in my statesman this weekend which i scored for 500 bucks, now i also have a v8 2500rpm stall converter which was given to me. how annoying do yous think this setup would be on the street/staying quiet as i pull into my street and driveway at night?? It will be good for acceleration times but will it be too loud and fuel consuming?
It would be fine but you probably wouldn't get the most out of it depending on where your engine makes its power. The acceleration gain comes primarily out of being able to stall it up against the brakes to launch in the sweet spot of your rev range so the size of stall comes down to your engine combo. PRetty sure that's it.
If it's been given to you and you know its in good nick I'd say go for it!
the trans that im putting in my car is still in my mates ss, so wont be until this/next weekend. ill show yous a 110km/h kickback to second gear on the highway - very quick, the holmart chip made a differance florring it as well as reduced my fuel consumption. although i dont recommend dealing with holmart as the guy(mick) was not very helpful and hig up on me a few times and first off tried to not pay my 50 dollar deposit back!
