How fat would a bigger cam sound on the V6 motor? Has anyone on here had this done to their 6? And if so, how did it sound compared to the stock cam?

No worries. Thanks Leebo. I have looked on you tube for videos of a V6 with a lumpy cam, and NO LUCK lol! All V8's and no Commodore 6's. One Falcon without a tune, a few Mustang V6's, and a BMW M3. The Mustang V6 sounded AWESOME! It had a very throaty sound and had the character of an 8. I would love to here the 3800, especially with a full set of extractors, high flow cat, and a straight through 2.5
Maybe i will hear one in my dreams tonight lol!

what u may need to do instead of just chopping out the muffler in chop it out and put in a resinator to give it a good note.

if you plan to go ahead with this installation see how you like it then change the exhause around to suite specific taste i recomend.

It has a $1400 exhaust on it that has only done 3000km. There will be no chopping there brother. The exhaust note is awesome. A bigger cam will change the tempo of the idle and the tempo of the exhaust note. All good

let me tell you something i think whatever you spend on your car is justifyable mate cos your car is in top nic (don't post any pics i wan't to wait untill i see it on street commdores)and mine is a bloody waste but i'll still do it anyways. i think if you goahead with this no matter what you will still be happy.

And anyways you don't have to worry about the money you get back on it because you grandpa gave u that car so I'm sure you not gona sell it as soon as you need like $4000.

that's my 2 cents anyways

That was very well said leebo, and i appreciate your positive feedback. My grandfather left me a legacy, so you are right in that i have no intentions of selling it. And by the way, it was more than 2 cents worth buddy. I think the charger is the way to go though. See what happens.

Don't get a Cam just because you want it to sound mean, get it because you want to optimize a rev range.

If you get the wrong cam for your motor, you'll be running ****.

No point having a cam that works at 6000RPM if it's a 3.8L stroked to 4.3L with massive amounts of compression and only revs to 5000RPM.
