on the weekend my friend and i was on at the trafic light and this skyline gts turbo pulled up showing off n **** with his music going off and revving the car up and all those things anyways so my friend thought he'll race him off the line till we reached 80km legal limit. my mates vn has a exaust system and just fitted a series 2 coil pak its lowered doesnt have any other mods besides that not even a cai. anyways so once we took off the line the skyline took off first but by the time we reached 80km his front bumber was like behind us where the rear door is. so im just clueless is this possible that a skyline can get beaten by a alost stock vn or is it just cos he doesnt know how to shift???????? by the way felt good to know that we bet a skyline cos there supposed to b well known as fast carz. not anymoreeee hehe! b4dn xxxx

Boasting about drag racing from lights isn't that smart, you only went to the legal limit so I'm not pissed. But given that more than one Police officer checks this forum, bragging about stuff like that probably isn't the best thing to do.
The GTS Skyline is nothing super special (not like the GTS-T or the GTR), the GTS is kinda like the 'executive' of the Skyline world. It has the same general shape, and moves fairly well, but doesn't have the crazy power of the other two.
Couple that to the fact that it was probably an auto (and let's face it, stock auto's don't drag well), either that or a manual with a driver who couldn't shift it right, and it's easy to trounce just about any car. |

| stop putting your foot in it ..... if you were to do this and there was a cop there its realy upto his/hers dicretion if they pull you over even if u reach the limit and bak off .. the fact of the matter is you are leaving your self open to side of the road inspections .. not just that any sort of wheel spin is classed as reckless under the hoon law!!! P.s vn,s will beat most things of the light with the odd xception ;) but 1nc again not the smartest thing to do!!! |

I seriously don't understand red light heroes- to tell the truth they piss me off. If anyone wants to see what their car is made of, head down the strip and have a look. Just don't dump oil all over the place.
I drive a modified V8- it sounds grumpy. Every time I pull up at the lights it seems some arsehat in a hatch wants to prove the size of his testicles by revving the guts out of it and spinning the wheels off the line. Usually I don't have such a problem with it but lately a lot of them have gone loose shifting into second gear and have nearly parked themselves in my passenger side door. I will not be impressed when this happens... I just want to drive to work and am not at all interested in street racing. But no doubt they go to whereever it is these retribates go and brag about how they did this V8 Holden...
I've spent too much time, effort and money to waste it all being a dickhead on the street. |

I don't change the way I drive regardless of who's next to me at the lights. There's a time and place- it usually doesn't bother me but I've had a couple come close to exchanging paint and thats really not cool.
I've got better things to do than flip out at people on the internet ;) Like laugh at funny photos of people with ridiculous pants. |

| iv had cops say you can go from 0 to the speed limit as fast as you like, but as soon as you spin those wheels ill book you... others would book you for excessive acceleration and/or noise, depends on thier mood i guess. |

Basically, no to your question of:quote: Originally posted by SWEET

The law quite clearly states that you must be in control of your vehicle at all times, and spinning your wheels is not being in control of your vehicle.
A mate of mine got done the other week, where as he was turning right at an intersection of Kings Way and the lights changed, so he took off to make sure that he was fine to get around, the wheels spun a little over the tram tracks and he got booked by the cop that was sitting at the lights. I was in the car with him, and it was not done to show off, just one of those things that happen, but the cop still booked him.
So stop dragging with others on the road will ya...

Actually, it's illegal to use any public roads for 'performance testing'. This includes seeing how quickly you can get to the speed limit.
Taking the most literal interpretation of the law, it's actually illegal to use 100% throttle opening. Because that is used when testing the acceleration of the car, vehicular testing on public roads can get you a substantial fine.
So yes, nailing it from the line and getting to the speed limit as fast as possible is ILLEGAL. |

| Would keep this kinda chat off the forums if i was in your position plenty of cops cruise them. On another note i think he just doesnt kno how to drive his "High powered vehicle" like most people who own flashy rice burners, they r just trying to compensate for something usually and dont actually know how to drive. |
