hey all, my odometer has been getting a bit sticky over the part couple of weeks, and completely stopped working lastnight. Any ideas on how to fix this? I managed to fix the one on my brother's BMW, but it took 7 hours!! I guess its what you get with a german car. Anyway, don't wanna spend that much time diagnosing the problem on the vn.

You'll need to pull the cluster out, then apart. It's not that hard to do, certainly won't take 7 hours. I've had mine out a few times, I've got it down to a 30 minute job now.

Probably be better off just getting a new cluster from a wreckers, you should be able to pick up a L1 or L2 cluster for about $30 or so.

i done the whole get a new cluster thing and the odometer stopped after 3000k....so i figure a gear for $11 and 10-16 years of use isnt too bad...until your dials stop working..then take the gear and get a new cluster :P
