Do I have extractors? that is the question. The system was on the car when I got it and I didn't think it had them. But my headers are not made of cast iron but tube steel. Is that normal for the OEM headers?
The car has a sports exhaust but i thought it was only a cat back system.
Any opinions on what extractors to use?
Any thoughts would be great or a pick of genuine exhaust manifold. PS: there is a pic in my photo album, how do i put the pick in the post?

| I am not sure which model but i believe that one came out with a three into one tube steel header. I am not 100% on this i just have a feeling. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

| Your car has extractors... if it didnt have extractors then it couldnt extract the exhaust from the system so you wouldnt get fresh air to burn... so the answer is yes, you have extracters... if your car has a cat back sports exhaust system then above the cat will be stock... and you cant put a pic in the post you need to put an external thread in... hope this helped... have a good one |

| m8 there standard unless u know theres been work on the xhaust.. and yeah most of the xtractors onthe vn's are steel the panzies that put them in decided 2 crush the sh1t outa them 2 get them to fit ... unless u can c under the car and if all the bends in the pipe work are nice and even (not smashed and squashed) then its highly likley that your xtractors have been worked on!!! Remember 2 do the xtractors the engine has 2 come out!(as far as I know, any 1 confirm this!!) so there proberly are a few other tell tale sighns !!! |

@Trizo - to do the extractors/headers/manifold no the engine does not have to come out. Yes they are fiddly but a bit of time, patience and a 3/8 socket set go a long way. @Johnny Cade - I believe what driveacarsideways is wanting to know is if he has the standard cast headers or an aftermarket set of "extracters" as many people call them.
Please correct me if i am wrong driveacarsideways. One way to be sure would be to take a picture of the item in question and post it on this thread and see if we can shed a little light for you |

| Yes i believe what you have there are standard headers. I think that you will find that extracters will more than likely be a 3 into 2 into 1 setup. |

| I believe that the standard VP headers flow much better and was considering putting those on for the time being. If anyone has an old set they want to get rid of send me a PM. |

| VPW in epping have advertised pacemaker headers on their website for just over $400, that seems to be a great price. let me know if you see anything else around the Melb area. |
