i have an 89 calais and i'm pretty sure there should be beeps and stuff when you go over the overspeed setting as well as when warnings come up and when you leave the lights on when turning the ignition off. it doesn't beep however and i'm just wondering firstly if the 89 model had this feature and secondly if someone can tell me exactly where to find it and what it possibly looks like so i can fix the problem.
it sure would stop me leaving my lights on and flattening the battery!!

| the 89 calais dash as i have, has all the right lights, but no warning beeps cause we have a series1 dash, the series 2 dash comes with the warning beep and all the audible warnings, to do this u have to change the circuitry on the dash with a series 2, if u dont wish to change your dash for another one with some unknown km's, i suggest doing the circuit board on the back |

If you can picture where the reset button goes in a L1 & L2 dash cluster, then where it would be inside the cluster is right where the beeper is.
As noted, early ones don't have it. It's not quite lined up with s1/s2 though, as it was introduced on vehicles made from 13-10-89, which still ran the s1 motor, but scored climate. |
