hey guys, just noticing that there is quite a large rattle/clunkinh sound coming from the froth end of the car when i go over a bump or if im driving on a rough road, sounds like its coming from the suspension, i was thinking it could be something to do with the stabaliser bars or the rubbers, anyways i would appreciate it if anyone had a idea, or maybe this is happening to someone elses vn,
thanks

Yep, it's been happening to mine for quite a while, so I'm just replacing the entire suspension, front and rear.
From what I can work out it could be any one of the following:
* Struts * Bearings * Ball joints * Stabiliser bar link pins * ANY of the rubbers * Play in the steering rack * Strut top bearing plates * Loose link pins.
So now that you think that the only thing left in the front end is the tyres, you can see why I'm just going to replace EVERYTHING rather than try to find exactly what it is. If you can track it down on yours, well done, you've got more patience than I do.
Jack the car up and have a look at all the rubbers that you can see, they shouldn't be split or cracked at all. Also, check the condition of the wheel bearings, I know mine aren't great. |

| If it is the link pins, might I suggest that you look at the 'modified' setup. Instead of the link pins being hooked to the strut towers, you can get ones that link straight into the lower control arm. Makes for much tighter cornering, and slightly easier steering. There are several brands that make them, Whiteline are just one example, but well worth it. |

| Get the link pin conversion kit, and a new swaybar to go with it, and you won't know yourself. |
