Hi my s1 vn motor dropped No6 piston so i have now put a s2 vp motor in.I bolted it to the original auto and am now having trouble with the gear changes. The tranny ran like a dream before the transplant and i havent changed anything that i can think of.Can anyone suggest any possible causes.THANKS
Adjust your kickdown cable. That might be all it is.
If that doesn't fix it, then do a fluid change and see if that fixes anything, otherwise...it might be worth looking at a service (shift kit too perhaps).

Well we followed the instructions for adjusting the kick down cable in the link you left as the are the same as in the manual but it was taken to the Transmission specialist and was correctly adjusted as it was still out a far way. The strange thing is though the tranny seems to have 4th gear sticking and wont change but driving it wont hurt it any ideas how to unstick a valve?? without pulling the tranny apart??
Uh...as far as I know the only way to unstick a stuck valve is to rip the tranny out. Sorry.
You done a fluid change on it? Could just be that the fluid is old and dead.
If you've done that then I'd suggest taking it to an auto trans specialist and getting a full service on it. Either that, or it's time for you to get well acquainted with the insides of your tranny.
