Hi all,my vn wagon needs the balancer replaced because it's got a crack in the rubber centre piece and it's chewing up the drive belt..it would of lasted a bit longer had i not noticed the belt had one whole rib chewed off but it still ran fine except a bit noisy..so i replaced the belt with another second hand one and that's wen it chewed the hell outta it and got caught up behind the balancer and stuffed the sensor up..so now it starts fine but wen u start driving it begins to miss and want's to stall..Anyway going by my manual it says that ya don't need a pully on the older vn's which is good because i don't have one...finally my question is has anyone here done this repair on there vn as i'd like some feed back on any drama's i might encounter wen doing this job. Cheers,Chris

Yes, you need the pulley!

The CAS costs about $70 to buy, BUT you need to replace the balancer. It's a prick to get the damn thing off, but when you do, it's plain sailing.
