Red oil or black oil?
If it's red oil then you've blown a tonne of transmission oil all over the place, and you will need to find the leak, fix it and get the auto-trans serviced. The reason the tacho will have been a little nuts is because when the trans-fluid is low the transmission slips.
If it's black oil (engine oil), I'd go looking for the blown gasket. Not sure about the V8, but splitting a rocker cover in the V6 will spew oil everywhere. Just a few thoughts. |
