Does anyone know a better way of checking 0-100 times rather then just having someone in the car with you using a stop watch?

The best way to do it would be a proper dyno test. But having a passenger time you will give you a rough idea. Of course there's always the option of a G-tech, but let's face it, that's money that you probably don't need to spend.
