Through a friend at work, we have always heard the stories of some of the crazy stuff that he did when he was younger, let's just say that when it comes to pushing the limits of cars, no matter what we think of doing, chances are the Brocky beat us too it.

Like you, Easy, I too grew up watching 05 run around the tracks, and as a little kid there was nothing cooler. I even managed to have 05 written in texta on the side of my billy-cart.

He was always a very professional racer, and was never afraid to admit to his own mistakes. Off the track he was a brilliant team manager, as well as a loved and respected member of his family and both the local and racing communities alike.

Like the tragic accident that killed Steve Erwin, Peter Brock too died doing something he loved, he devoted his life to his passion, and for that I salute him.

For those who did not see the Holden light-ship flying around the MCG, I shall echo the message playing on its screen for several minutes:

Vale Brocky 1945-2006

Today the world lost a true motorspot hero, Mount Panorama will be a very different place without him.

Topic will be 'sticky' for two weeks, so all can post their words of condolence. This way it won't get 'lost' in the forum.

brocky was a legend, i work in airport security and normally this brings out the worst in people but not him i met the man at work and he was just as nice and kind on the camera aswell as off it. i have followed the life of brocky since i can remember my first toy was a match box car that was done like the 05 car without brock i dont think racing would be racing holden god forbid wouldnt be holden and i wouldnt love holdens as much as i do. one thing that keeps running through my head is heros get remembered legends never die and brocky was definately a legend and the spirit of BROCK 05 will alwasys live on.

mate what can we do I went and bought a piece of history when I got a card signed by him.... I'll never let it go..... my mate actually checked out the history of his clients torana then took out a 40grand loan to buy it since it was owned by the brock family... its sitting in the workshop and only comes out on very special occasions....
