Hey guys, quick question about roller rockers, has anyone got them and tried them, to see if they actually make a difference in the V6? I have heard different stories... And the holden V6 come stock with 1:5 ratio rockers... Cheers

On a completely stock motor I believe that they make little difference, especially if you're going to keep the stock ratio. If you were to step up to a 1.6:1 or even 1.9:1 then you might see a difference, but to get the most out of them you'd really need to be looking at a good set of extractors, and a full length high-flow pipe system. Add a pod filter and a CAI and you'll start to notice the gains that they can give you.
They are a cheap alternative to a cam upgrade though. |

| The extractors and exhaust on their own would be giving about 10rwkw ;) |

| 10 -15 rwkw on top of what the car was doing with extractors and exhaust... that what the magazines and FIT's website claim... before and after dyno sheets, the works |

Most places will recommend a 2.5" set of pipes. Unless you've got a motor worked off its nut the 2.5" full lengths with a hi-flow cat installed would be fine. Plus, they usually leave you with a really nice exhaust note.
@lolo: I can believe that they'd give a fair bit like that, I was just being difficult :) |

You can go to whatever size you want, there's no one saying that 2.5" is the max. But unless you want to do a bit of work on the engine then going above 2.5" will drop the back pressure too much, and you'd need to at least do a retune of the memcal to get it to run properly.
I know guys who have put in 3" systems with no other mods and actually lost power, they went back to a 2.5" system and found that it was much better. |
