yesterday i got back into and the f@&ker did a runner! i didn't see his reg but other people stopped for me and gave it to me. but the bad news in that th plates on his car where stolen! so that means i will nevr find him and my insurance wont fix it for me cause they need to hear fro him that he dont have insurance so they will cover me! it sucks! but just wondering how much would a good door set me back? and how much to get it resprayed to the exact colour of my white berlina. the paint thats on it already is in mint condish but might of faided a little over time. will i ever get the new door to look exactly like my other panels?
You should be able to get the door colour matched, but it's going to fade differently to the other panels so in about 5 years or so a full respray might be on the cards.
I've got no idea how much a door would cost, but I think your best bet (since you've got to get it sprayed anyway) would be to get one from a wreckers. Either that or check out a few of the forums to see if anyone is wrecking a VN anywhere near you.
Sounds like you really got shafted on this...I thought that the insurance company would have covered it given that it was a stolen vehicle/plates that crippled your car. Who are you with?

i know how stuffed is it! i'm with just car insurance lol i thought they were good but maybe i was. my old mans gunna look into it a bit more for me maybe they will cover me but i'm not to keen to have my pride and joy sitting out the front with a f@%ked door on her. how much do u recon the respray will be?
Full car or just the door? A good quality full car respray is at least a couple of grand. You should be able to get the door done for a couple of hundred. You could always do it yourself...could be a bit dodgy though.
JCI, is just AAMI under a different name...and in the repair business, AAMI have got a fairly dodgy reputation. Apparently they will bail out on just about anyone given half a chance. I got a mate who used to work in the smash repair business, and he said that the insurance company that caused the most problems was AAMI. They might be cheap, but they are fairly unreliable. Only problem is, no one else will insure a modified car.
