wats goin on guys? Im thinking of getting the VT 'big break' upgrade thats on eBay. It comes with VN conversion hubs, hoses, front two slotted rotors and twin piston calipers. Is this a good upgrade to get for my VN? this i wat everyone in street commos has, so i want it to, lol.

It's a damn good upgrade, but you may also want to consider upgrading the master cylinder. The VN has only a small one, and sometimes after the upgrade the pedal can feel a bit soft.
That said, get the gear and fit it, then decide. It's not hard to change it over afterwards.
Keep in mind though that you need AT LEAST 15" rims for the upgrade to fit. |

| As mouce wisely said, upgrade your master cylinder from 15/16 to 1 inch. |

Another good reason to upgrade the rear is to keep the balance right between the front/rear brakes.
Also...don't skimp on brake pads either, don't get cheap ones. |

I know some people who think, cheap car, cheap parts. And get the cheapest nastiest EVERYTHING for their car. I'm sorry, but there's no way that $55 tyres are going to be any good, coupled with $30 brake pads. It doesn't matter if the car is 18 years or 18 months old, good parts are essential.

Presto ... spoken by the master himself ... BOOYAH hell its illogical to buy cheap parts for what is one of the most important systems on a car...gimps btw what is the price range for a 1" master cylinder, I can get it for around $160... am I getting ripped off??? |

Cars are just like sex. For it to be safe you need good rubber!
Okay...that might be an overly simplistic way to look at it, but it's a good start.
To be honest I've got no idea about how much a 1" master is going to cost, ring around a few places and try to get a bit of a feel for the average price. Get quotes from Repco, Bursons and somewhere which specialises in brakes. Work out what sounds fair to you. |
