Don't know it exactly, but at the flywheel they were 127kw (supposedly), and you typically drop about 25-35% in the driveline, probably closer to 35% in the auto, this would give you roughly 85rwkw, but that's a very rough guess.
85kw works out to be about 115bhp.
Again, that's only roughly. But it's not a bad guide. |

That's at the flywheel...there's a fair amount of loss between the flywheel and the tyres.
Generally a drop of about 30% is what a stock drive-line runs at. So whatever the figure at the flywheel is, take away 30% of that figure, and that's a ROUGH guide to what you'll have at the wheels.
As mentioned above it can vary between cars but 30% is a good starting point. |

Sorry to bring you down, but no two dyno's read the same, it's quite possible for any two dyno's to vary in their readings by as much as 10%. So if the one you were on was reading 10% higher than it should have then you're still running down at about 85-87rwkw. That said, there are a few 'freak' VN's out there that do produce well above what GMH claim.
Reason: The 3.8ltr Buick engine came from the states, where it was mounted in an east-west configuration, had a MAF sensor and a few other 'quirks'. When GMHA grabbed it and threw it at the VN, it (clearly) became a north-south engine, and we lost the MAF and scored a MAP sensor in it's place. End result is that while the engine was producing 125-127kw over in the states as it was setup over there, with the modifications that GMHA did to it total power output increased, and they never did any tests on it, they just quoted the power figure from the states. Most VN's when they were new, were thought to produce about 130-135kw at the flywheel. |
