just wonderin whats the best value for money way of sorting out a bit of the old holden roll? im not looking to put my car on the ground or spend loads of cash on fancy bits but just wanna know the best place to start
is the roll caused more by the springs or absorbers? seen plenty of cheap springs around. lows they call em (lol how low is low?). would chuckin them at it do anything for me?
i only want it lowered enough so that 17s (or maybe 18s if they fit) will sit nicely in the wheel arch so it doesnt look like sh1t
any advice would be cool

New bush's, lowered shock absorbers, lowered/stiffened springs and a strut brace. mags with lower profile tyres will also make it feel sportier.
I've got a complete kit with kings springs & monroe gas lowered shocks for $580 The strut brace goes for 140-150 dollars and can be ordered in same day. |
Cheers, Nodg. |

king low springs, adjustable panard rod, monroe sensatrac shocks, and some 17's, 18's or 19's will sit nice =) while your at it, nolathane or noltec bush kit, adjustable strut brace, 32mm front sway bar 28mm rear and your set, maybe even noltec adjustable strut tops, do NOT touch k-mac strut tops, so crap hopw this helps mate |

| Wouldnt a 32mm sway bar be a bit too thick on the front of the VN? It is a bit of a worry when you ry to drive around a round about and all your car wants to do is go straight. would need some pretty good rubber and the right width. I have regreted buying nolathane for the front endof my car. its all right if youwant to pull it all out and grease it every 6 months and in my opinion it feels like its softened up. another thing with the nolathane I have been told by suspension speacialists that the nolathane parts delaminate from were they have been bonded to metals. |

hahah it sits pretty stiff, its a whiteline adjustible sway bar. just 17x8's with 235's, camber and caster strut tops help alot, at full lock my tires scrub on the sway bar lolz i have had my nolathane FULL enhancement kit throughout my car, my car sits insanly stiff bit uncomfortable but sacrifice that for handling, check this vid out, my commodore on the PUTTY Road in NSW http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjW6fvbopO0 |

Hmm, the putty road. Just about broke my back on that in an LX that was stiff as anything and the worst bit was the unsprung race seats and harnesses :D Could hardly stand up after driving for an hour.
You need to watch where you use nolathene, there are a couple of places where you shouldn't. Off hand i can't remember which on a vn, but it's best to find a decent suspension specialist and have a chat. As said, you need to find a comprimise that you are happy with. |

I think that used to be the case but then they changed the product a little bit and made it give a bit more.
Speaking to a suspension shop is a sound starting point though. |

| When I ran a few things by pedders they didnt recommend nolathane unless you planned to pull it out every 6 months to grease it. and on the other side of the coin the bearing plate/strut tops the metal is prone to delaminate from the nolathane the rubber ones are bonded through a volcanising prosses. seems they cant do that with nolatane. that acually goes for any nolathane bush that is bonded to metal. |
