was it running rough b4 you put the chip in it m8? be cause it could be the fact that your ecm hasnt been reset there for has the original settings, with the new chip and coil it could be confusing the car to run rough. Then again it could be your leads or plugs! Was it running like a pig after you put all leads back on? cause the s1 coil/lead set up is different to the s2 coil/lead set up!
A bit more info m8 would help a bit, also welcome to the club hope we can help! TRIZO |

| the only reasdon i changed the coil pack is that the s1 coil pack crapped itself do u think it could be the map sensor i have also cleaned the throttle body and it runs fine once i get it goin but idling is rough and it stalls when i first start it if i don't rev it |

| vacum leak some were? possible from the map to the T/b? Are you getting plenty of spark? Is the orange engine light on? I know its a heap of questions but tellin me its runnin rough , it could be a few diff things so I'm trying to eliminate the obvious! Try doing a reset on the ecm. |

| no the questions are good, i'm not sure how to reset the ecm, and no vacuum leaks and i have had the idle sensor off today and replaced it but that has had no impact on the problem, what is the earth strap and where is it located i'm not to sure where it is, feels like it's runnin on 4 cylinders when i'm at the lights but once i get it movin it go's fine until i have to stop again, when i put it in gear it stalls if i don't keep the rev's up, and the engine light has not come on yet. |

| the earth strap should be on drivers side atthe bottom of block from memory, follow the oil dipstik down you should find it! as for resetting the ecm simply remove the engine fuse and the ignition fuse (located in front of the resivour) pull those to relays and disconnnect your batt (but not nessercery) and leave them out for a good 2 mins , plug back in and start the engine you can either take it for a drive or slow press the accelerator untill you hear the revs drop... that should reset the ecm for ya! |

| OK so now i have reset the ecm, changed the map sensor (this has fixed the stalling problem.) put new plugs and leads on have recently had a s2 core pack on but the problem has happened a good month after i put it on, i have a vp ecm and sports chip in it now, but i am still having a problem when the car is idling. it is fine to start when it is cold but after touching the accelarator and then letting it go back to idling it starts to miss. |

make sure one of the coil packs has not died. After running the car for a little while you should be able to feel a noticeable difference in heat in one of the coil packs this will be the dead one. If this is the problem they are easy to remove and replace. Let us know the outcome. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

| Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the sixes run a transformer type pack? I thought the weeping black crap was a throw back to the old type of coil- but I know nothing about the six so educate me ;) |
