The beeper seems to be neatly placed inside the cluster. I got my Calais with the globe for the fuel warning light missing....... (I found this ponderous and just thought some one had a blatant disrespect for there car) Today I put another globe in which seems to have disabled the beeping. The beeping is an audible warning system. It beeps when you start the car to tell you that the car is running. it beeps to tell you you have left your lights on and it beeps when you have exceded the set speed limit. and I am told that it also beeps when the fuel is low. I had a problem once. I hit speed bumps warning of train tracks which apparently armed the anti theft system. I have the barel in the glove box. I dont have a remote (Its on the to do list, If any one could tell me where to get a genuine......) any way after hiting these speed bumps the car beeped for atleast 5 minutes eventally stopped the whole time I waited for the engine to cut out and not start. I even tried turning the key in the switch in the glove box.

Thanks mate !!! sounds like exactly what mines doin , ive got the key in the glovebox aswell and had issues with the car imobilising itself after 5mins driving !i had that fixed by a mechanic . and your right all the warnings make the same noise . ill take my cluster out and have a look around. ill try the key first ,i hope it maybe that simple. ive never used the key before. ive got plenty of spare globes so ill try replacing them , otherwise im just gona have too live with it for a while, metal seems to keep it quite and out of mind. thanks again cheers.

In my last post I said about the globe some how disabling the beeping. I would like to with draw that statement. It still beeps accordingly. it was just basic stupidity. when I put the cluster back into the dash I have neglected to plug the feed to the computer back into the bottom of the cluster when I plugged the feed in I did it with the engine running. It must have only realised the next timeI started the car that I had pluged the feed in. I use the key thingy in the glove box if I am leaving it in an area that it could be stolen

Its all fixed !!! removed v6 L3 cluster and all the wiring was connected , so i looked at the circuits and position 3 is chimes for antitheft
position 20 is a spare chime. i have no idea what all this means ? i then took the front cover and found a small metal cylinder just behind
the warning lights panel right in the middle . i removed this and bingo no more noise !!! whoohoo . the warning lights are more than enough
to keep you informed without all this sound going on. thanks to all for your response . cheers
