| the lowest point of the car must be able to squeeze a coke can under it, and with the kits that have lips on the front spoiler make it dificult going over numps, if you ave say 17 inch mags with stiff suspension you will be fine (most of the time) but if you have 15 inch rims it will bottom out alot easier, so go slow like a snail if you still have stockies on. 2 inches should be fine my v6 was around the same but not 100% sure |

| Yes it used to be a coke can nodg but unless it has changed again in the last couple of years it should now be 100mm at the lowest point. They changed it from 150mm(aprox a coke can) to 100mm about 4-5 years ago while I was helping a mate do roadworthies. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

| Depends on state... SA is definately 100mm at the lowest point... if that means your exhaust hangs lower than that they'll defect you. |

| Now why would you want the rear to sit lower than the front?? I see quite a few cars like that. WHY!?!?!? |

| What benche is saying is having the rear end lower than the front and I have seen it on alot of cars. I am all for nice straight look but when the back end sits lower than the front it just doesn't look any good. |

If anything it looks better with the rear a little higher in my opinion. If the rear is visibly lower than the front it just looks like pus... almost like someone wanted to lower it themselves but couldn't figure how to take the front springs out :)
Unless of course he means you'll need to lower the rear more to level it out and get it sitting nice and flat but that certainly isn't what that post looks like.
Plus- think about what else they might defect you for if they get you for too low... could be an ongoing saga, right Bostik ;) |

I think we'll have to agree to disagree Nodg... IMHO it looks gayer than aids.
But I do miss my VB... don't have it anymore thanks to someone who thought they deserved it more than me. |

Not sure how we didn't keep it nice?
The only time a lowered rear end looks good is on a big old yank tank on hydraulics. |

| i'd be getting that fixed, seen what fuel vapor can do when a spark shoots onto it? As for your lowered size ring your local rego place or were you would go for a road worthy, |

hsv babe... the legal limit in VIC is 100mm at the lowest point... FULLY LADEN... Meaning if you have 5 people in your car... it cant sit lower than 100mm...
Can anybody answer me... apart from the OBVIOUS VISUAL BENEFITS... why drop your car so low... I makes it handle like ****... rough and noisy as ****... and our good old VN's are already noisy as **** on the road anyways! |

Personally... Kings Lows and standard shocks simply rock the socks of all VN's! Well... i think anyways... Plus, its cheap... roughly $250-300... but only if your shocks are good!
Smack some 17's under it and BAM... SEXUAL CHOCOLATE
But i do realise it is a matter of personal taste... and i respect that! But its the best of both worlds with the Lows and standerd shocks... sleek looks without a REAL compromise on ride feel! |

| im thinking of lowering mine just so theres not so much room between my wheels and the arches. its ridiculously huge!! i could probably get something bigger than my 16's but i like em... can you drop it slightly without compromising handling? |
Theres a fine line between not knowing and not caring... i like to think i walk that line everyday of my life |

| How does it look better lower at the back. I have seen mates VB's the front lower then the back it looked tough. now another mate had another car not worth of metion the rear was lower and upon exelertion the front would lift....(good for star gazing I guess) I am considering lowering the front end of my calais for the simple reson that there is about a 2 inch gap between the front wheel and the gaurd. on the rear the gaur over laps the tyre by about 15mm. Yes the rear gaurd is straight. and the car visually sits level. In just having trouble coming to groups with the gap between the gaurd |
