Even though I don't own a VN anymore, I thought that you guys on here would enjoy this article link. Looks like the VS box holds up really well all these years later, and would be the "lab proven" way to go to improve airflow to your VN. Happy reading guys and girls

Nice reading thanks buddy!!

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

Street Commodore's Mag , just cut the hole bigger on the base of the box , and bought the snorkel and air intake parts only.
A bit of time with the angle grinder or jigsaw and some of your cash stay's in the pocket.

looking at those pic's the Bottom one looks a bit different to VN but the top one's almost exactly the same except for the bend to the throttle body flow tube.
The bottom one might not suit the V6 and would be better for the 8. interesting info there VN91SX thanks for that mate. Holden does it again....lol

reading it up, it says that because the vn has a lip to go to the outflow tube, the effectivness isnt as good as the vs. and when i go to the wreckers to get the top vs i will check if it fits the vn bottom.

Let us know if the top will fit no prob's , but will the tube transfer mount need to be fitted from the VN , interesting that the box flow's better with only that great big hole cut there.

Well i just did the Vs OTR CAI in my vn i cut the bottom off the box to match it and i checked my mrs vs and it turns out i already have a vs top bit and a K&n panel filter.

Not sure how the OTR CAI help theres next to nothing off air going to it when you shut the bonnet and i allways thought that you would have more air when you remove the plastic front bit and have air coming from behind the head light.

I am a fan on home made CAI like most First gen commodore owners have done to there cars myself being one off them when you cut a 3 inch hole under the airbox and run a pvc pipe with mesh. I had that in my old vl it went heaps better then most stock other vl's i had in the past.

If your car has the rubber strip running along the front edge of the bonnet , took mine off for better flow.

Yeah mate i Hear ya , I want my bug catcher and Holley back.

will taking off the rubber strip give enough air flow make a noticable difference? and it wont cause the bonnet to rattle will it?

Probably not much difference but its a form of seal. The rubber stops on the bonnet can be adjusted to cure any rattle.

Yeah the intake locks up the bonnet , adjust the striker a bit to loosen it up and remove the sound deadening from the bonnet if that fail's. Then play around with the rubber stops. some time spent adjusting will get it there even if the front edge has to sit up a bit.

i tried putting on my CAI today and was wondering if someone had pics for me to go by? Do you attach the snorkel to the car in anyway apart from the tubing because there are 2 screw holes in the front of the CAI but no where to attach them to. And do you need to remove anything before you install it because my bonnet wont go down unless i push hard then the funnel moves and i cant see it doing to much sucking of any air.
Any Help?

i put the vs air box lid on my vn. When i came to fit the otr snoorkle i found i couldnt shut the bonnet. The last owner hit skippy the dodgy repair sits the radiator support higher then standard. I did have the entire front face of the lower half of the air box cut out. I now have the lower section of the cai fitted and i cant tell the differance
