Hi guys,
First of all hello to everyone! I've got a '88 VN 5 speed (currently for sale in classifieds section), and just wanting to do a couple of things to it before it goes. Firstly one of my interior rear quarter plastic panels above the parcel shelf is borken. How does this come out? I'm very good mechanically etc when it comes to cars, but this one looks well, rather tricky. Second, how does the rear number plate light come off the bumper? Many thanks guys, hope i can help you all out sometime.
Cheers, Nick.

| Take the seat belt off then get to work with a screwdriver there is anout seven or more christmas tree plastic clips then need to come out... Oh and the two most important tools you will need are patience and time...it's a pain in the ass and needs to be done really slowly otherwise you will break it. |

^^^If it's already busted the easiest way to get it out would be to smash it with a hammer and pull out all the pieces Then you can pull out all of the clips using pliers before you pop the new one in...
Trying to get those panels out without snapping them is damn hard...I've had a couple of goes, and after spending more than an hour trying to ease it out and not even getting half way done, I just clipped it back in and gave up.
The rear number plate light should just pop out of the bumper, get a flat blade screwdriver and ease it out...at least that's how it worked on my car, but then again...I've found that my car is a little different in some ways. |
