does any one know anything about re programming vn ecu using a pc and link cable would like info no how to do this

I'm currently about 4 months into researching this, it's not as simple as plugging the PC into the ALDL connector. The 1227808 Delco unit isn't 'smart' enough to allow for reprogramming on the fly, you need to physically remove the chip and mount it in an EPROM burner plugged into your PC so that you can flash a new map onto it.

There's a how-to being written for it, and it's a bloody ugly one.

It's possible to do just about anything with the VN ecu, but on-the-fly reprogramming is one of the few things that it WON'T do. Stick it out for about another month and I should have the how-to ready. There's a lot of people here very interested in it, and I want to make sure that I get it right.

There's a LOT more to it than just adjusting one or two parameters. So long as you can do some basic maths, and you can use a computer (windoze only, sorry guys) you should be able to make your own chips. Of course it does depend on how much time you've got, because it takes a while to get them right.
