Hey guys is it worth it doing a V8 throttle body on a V6 with a OTR CAI ?

Unsure as to what the specific differences are between a V6 and V8 throttle body. I'd assume diameter and airflow meter electronics vary, although the HSV CAI units seem to be simple to add to either V6 or 8. Personally, I think the bulk of the "upgrades" would be better served further down the engine's "lungs."

There's not much in it , on mine seems the throttle is slightly quicker and fuel consumption went a tiny bit higher. might knock off two tenths of stuff all.
Not sure about the ecu taking full advantage of the extra air and fueling it accordingly.

So its not worth it paying $100+ for a v8 throttle body ?

It's a reasonable cheap upgrade at that price. I'd do it and then go the headers/exhaust, and maybe a chip to suit.
Might give you a bit more off the line and you'll notice it breath's so much better. instead off the 6 pack a day weezing
If your putting the 8 in much latter then , yes give the beast some breathing room , and the VS CAI will be good use.
Are you waiting a while for the 8 and will you do the diff gears ?
Great to see , this sound's like a new VN project car is starting to evolve.

Yeah i am doing up the v6 a little for now until i figure out when i will be getting a v8 for it so for now i just want to get some more power and fun times out off the six :D

Yeah diff gears are deffinently on the cards and a mini spool.

I am toying between a vn diff with a 3:4:5 ratio or 3:9's out off a R31 auto.

So is there much difference between a V6 and V8 throttle ?
