Alright. I've been meaning to do the filter in my VN for quite some time now.
I've been recommended heaps to get a Pod filter for it, better induction noise, but after some research, I found that unless I've got a turbo pushing high amounts of boost, it actually reduces your power because it sucks in the hot air from the engine bay, but you do get the awesome induction noise.
I've also looked at K&Ns high flow panel filter and others recommend I should just get that if I'm not putting in a Cold-air induction kit, which I'm not.
What do you guys recommend?

| the hi flows are great, mianly cause the washable and have a good flow, the pod filter can work in you favour if you r prepared to do a few mods on the airbox ect... I do know of a few members on here that have chopped the air box to fit the pod through a cai, or they have popped a hole in the bottom of the airbox and chassis (I dont recommend that) Id say stick with the panel filter for now... If you r after a cia have a look at ebay , they have them made for vn's with the new airbox for around $70.. welcome to the site also m8! |

Na, I don't really wanna do any serious modifications, I want it to look fairly stock standard at first sight.
Thanks, I'll be here fairly often too, I've got a few more questions that I'll ask later.

Plum air in from the plenum chamber if you want a little gain at higher speeds.
You can mod the standard airbox to take air in from the right hand rear corner of the firewall from the plenum chamber. Be good for few pounds of boost from the high pressure plenum chamber.
Don't believe me? how hard is the air coming out one vent with all the others closed? Remember it's restricted by the heater core and fan assembly!

There just as good when new, but then the paper filter becomes clogged and restricted within a week or 3.
I get what vax is saying but theres no subsitute for a pipe inbetween the radiator support and headlight, theres room for a 55-60mm pipe to sqeeze from the bumper to the airbox, this is mine i made for free in about an hour- (various stages)
