Hey everyone! Just bought another car a 1990 V6 VN with 100,000KM(My other car is a Datsun 180B SSS)
Anyway im deciding on buying a few things just to make it go a bit harder I have decided on -Extractors -Performace exhaust -Cold air intake system -Top gun leads -chip -and maybe a larger throttle body I didnt want to go and do anything too major like getting it superchargerd or buying a turbo kit i just wanted to get a few things to make it go a bit harder. Just wondering what your thoughts were on these and weather you rekcon it will make a noticable differnece. And could you suggest some good brands for each
IM not sure weather it is the gears but when i put my foot down it feels like the car selects the wrong gear gos a bit slower and then ill feel drop into the right gear and itll take off? Got any suggestions on what this could be?
Yep! for $1500. The previous owner was an old lady. It had all the logbook things and was serviced every few months up until this year. I was looking for a manual originally but when i found this it was a bit of an impulse buy. I hope it pays off
If the box isn't working correctly the easiest things to check are the fluid level and quality of it (so it isn't old and burnt) and the adjustment of the kickdown cable. It's always good to give them a once over when you buy a new (old car).
It could be something more sinister but that's where I'd start- let us know how you go and I'm sure it'll get sorted ;)
but for $1500 for a vn with only 100 000 on the clock is dam good..and here i was thinking that the VS commy i just got with 77 000 on the clock ( owned buy a old guy) was good lol
throttle adjustment is what that sounds like but could just be the fact your g/b needs a good sevice ! and with those mods you planning on it wont give u mega amounts of power but will give you a nice little kick.
make sure you don't thrash it too hard to start with. If it's got 100k on it and it's been driven lightly, it's bound to have a ridge in the bore that will break all the rings if you drive it harder then it normally is.
Just take it easy for a while and whatch the loud pedal :D
