my mate and i were drifting and he hit a gutter HARD!!!!! his chaser rims are bent and wobble now. his diff was shunted to the RHS of the car. what damage would he have done to it?? and suggestions as to what to look for are appreciated
The statesman has a independent rear end does it not?? If this is the case he would have done damage to the diff mount, Lower control arms, possibly CV's(constant velocity joints), possibly the axle on that side as well as upper and lower control arms. There are alot of components in the IRS setup that have the possibility of being damaged with an impact like that. If it is a live axle setup it could sustain damage to the panhard rod, wheel bearing and axle on the side of impact, possibly even bend/brake the diff housing and depending on the severity of the impact upper and lower control arms. Best way to find out is to jack the car and have a good hard look at everything. Send us some pictures if you get stuck and we will see what we can do for you. Good luck and keep us posted.
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
That sucks mate- time and a place and all that but I'd say it's a lesson learnt.
Listen to VNSVLE and keep us updated on how you. Chances are the car needed a bit of work to the suspension regardless so nows the perfect time to do a couple of things.
haha stupid m8 its a FAKE stato haha has live axle all he did was bent the panard rod's chassis mount (OUCH) and broke the axle housings on the diff lmfao!
yeh you cant really mistake a vn/vp for a stato lol very different body's haha lol i mean doesn't the lack of the 2 extra windows give it away?.......as not being a statesman :P
