that's the same as my car mate it has a alarm under the bonnet that i disconnected as i didn't have the key to it mine has a positive and negative wire coming out of it that runs to the ecu when i took the + wire off the alarm didn't work at all but the car would start but when i took the - wire off the guard it would not start it wouldn't even turn over still to this day i have the alarm inside my engine bay but only the - wire is connected, do you still have the alarm under your bonnet or did you take it out completely. is there any chance a earth wire has come lose or broken off somewhere

one way to slove the problem would be to ring the factory that made the immobiliser and ask them for help maybe?

do not have a remote,i think it may be part factory vn and part aftermarket has a alarm under bonnet that was disconnected 18 months ago,car was starting OK until two weeks ago.

Do you have the factory VN system? When the VP came out, Holden offered VN owners the chance to upgrade their security to a VP-style keyless entry. Is your remote battery ok? This is the first thing to check. If that battery dies then it won't disarm the immobiliser, no matter what type, make or model the immobiliser system is.

think it may dissarm with the central locking.

How does the immobiliser disarm usually if you do not have keyless entry??
VNGRPA Posted - 03 Dec 2011 : 5:22:49 PM
i didn't think vn's had them as every vn i have had has not had one but i do know that if you have a vs you can leave the key turned on till the reds come up on the dash for 45min and then you can start it happened to my brother he just replaced the immobiliser
