Posted - 09 May 2011 : 7:49:04 PM hey guys, have a complete vs motor at home that has kicked a leg out of bed, just wondering if the roller rockers and lifters would help make the dunga (my vn s1 with s2 manifold conv) a bit more pokey? i already have a chip and under full accel from stopped start it lights up thru 1st and 2nd and pulls like a freight train. would like a bit more go before i put an lsd in and dont want to change diff ratios. |

Posted - 10 May 2011 : 6:18:14 PM yeah was if they would fit they are a better design that the vr units but vr are still better than vn( same rocker different pivot) as for the exhaust that will come soon as firewood season is upon us and i will be raking in the $$$$ soon, but the chipped comp will be goin in the calais when ive finished it to go with the motor that has a cam to suit the chip. had thought about the cai but after reading about the guy who had his car repaired and it didnt fit right im wary as the dunga had been smashed when i was teaching my 12 yo stepdaughter to drive on a back road. |

Posted - 10 May 2011 : 5:12:00 PM The freeflow exhaust will improve the exhaust note, power and fuel economy at the same time. Getting a reprogrammed chip will also help, and cold air intake sre all "bolt on" power upgraders. No internal engine mods necessary. Compared to stripping and rebuilding one with wild part's, it's a cheap way to get more power out of a stocker |

Posted - 10 May 2011 : 12:06:34 PM mate i was a little confused i thought you were saying you were going to use the vs ecotec engine parts on the vn s1 block,as for the roller lifters vn to vt all used the same ones i thought as the part number is the same for all of them its just the cam that was different |

Posted - 09 May 2011 : 9:57:25 PM the vs units dont fit because the guide plate and the bolt hole location and bolt size are different but vr units fit but again the holes are smaller and the standard vn bolts are too short so im going to find some longer high tensile bolts and open the holes up on the drill press, too easy. just wondering if i should put the roller lifters in too or if roller lifters w/ a non roller cam will cause probs? |
