Posted - 22 Feb 2012 : 3:56:04 PM Hey everyone, I live in NSW and I'm buying a 79 VB commodore with a VN v6 in it, T5 gearbox and a VL diff, They're all on the mod plate btw.
I'm planning to get it done in my Aunties Qld address, my question is, how will i transfer the rego? Will I just need a receipt written out to my auntie? Or will i need the bloke to come to the registry and do heaps of paperwork, please run me through this as i don't understand the qld TMR rules
Thanks, Jamie |

Posted - 22 Feb 2012 : 9:16:22 PM in qld mate if you sell a car with rego it has to come with a rwc!!! once you see that the rwc it current then you and the person that sells you the car have to fill out a change of ownership papers. once the papers are filled out and signed by both parties you can go into Queensland transport and give them the papers and they will put it into the computer and the car will be yours,
if it is signed over to your auntie you can get your auntie to gift the car to you but that just involves more paper work your best bet is to get the change of ownership papers there are 3 of them from what i can remember 1 is for you 1 is for the old owner and 1 is for Queensland transport there is not much work involved in doing it and since your the new owner its all up to the person that is selling the car, as for eg if he doesn't have the paper work to prove he transferred it over to you then you could drive through toll roads and he would get the bill for it. hope that info helps you out a bit |
