Without getting a dyno tune,http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Maximum-perfomance-VN-VP-VR-VS-V8-Commodore-memcal-c-o_W0QQitemZ270252146006QQihZ017QQcategoryZ32094QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem this will be the best gain for your money.

You could get slightly more power with a dyno tune but for the hundreds you would pay, the 45 dollar chip is the go and will make a nice differance in economy and power.

ignore that it says vn-vp v8, he does both the v6 and v8 tunes for the same price.

Cheers,
Nodg.

depending on what brand your putting in you may need to drop the power steering rack a touch!

They definitely seem the most popular option.

I strongly suggest getting them ceramic / Jet Hot coated. Apparently Pacemaker can do it in house which cuts a lot of $$$ off the cost aswell. Now's the time if you can get the extra pennies together.

cool so should be a fairly easy job ;-)

hey whats ceramic coating do exactly? makes em more heat resistant right? Are there any sound differences or performance gains or is it the longevity of the headers that is the main benefit?

Mainly it will keep your under bonnet temps down and stop your extractors rusting and looking poo.

well i have cai rather than a pod filter so under the bonnet temp won't make a difference to the air going in as it will be straight from the front of the car. but i do like the idea of nice shiny headers as i don't plan on selling it in the future. gonna keep it as a long term project/weekend driver. so maybe one day i'll have a nice lookig engine bay with those DAMN expensive braided hoses and such but no wish to do it anytime soon...

Yeah- I don't know Triz. I don't consider my car worked but the big thing for me is I always wish I had coated my headers- it gets bloody hot in there!!

Yeah but it does- heaps. It's what it is designed for.

The other advantage is is means they don't corrode and look crap aswell as not last as long.

speaking of nice looking engine bays, does anyone know if those pressure packs you get from autoshops will be heat resistant enough to paint the rocker covers with?
