Thought i would post this as i cant find any info on the site about it , for a long while there every time my car was lowish on fuel, i could not accelerate fast without the car cutting out,but was fine when fuel tank was half way or so , SOLUTION , there is 1 of 2 solutions to this, firstly you must remove the fuel pump , you do not need to take out the fuel tank to do this, at the bottom of the fuel pump there is a little sponge /filter which get very dirty over time , you can exchange this , or just exchange the complete fuel pump, personaly i would exchange the fuel pump , because this problem can come from pump running on low volatge, and if your going to do this a new pump is a good peace of mind, if anyone would like to know how to remove the pump let me know and i will give you the procedure, also sometime's this problem can be caused from the fuel filter being old and dirty , however if your car is cutting out on fast acceleration on low fuel but fine on full tank , then i would deffently say fuel pump,

common problem, good that you nutted it out yourself. the majority of the time i would of said to replace the pump rather than stuff with a used one but free is better than paying something to fix it.

Cheers,
Nodg.
